Five adult males and two adult females of Montague Island marmot collected in summer 1908 are housed at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, Berkeley, California. Marmota monax petrensis p. 33, Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada. Marmota monax ochracea p. 34. Marmota caligata oxytona, p. 63. Remains (some or all of which may be Pleistocene) are known from southwestern New Mexico (near Old Fort Tularosa) and the Manzano Mountain.
