Résumé
The only archeological site with Vancouver Island marmot remains was a coastal shell midden on Albertini Inlet. Wolf, cougar and elk have been found in coastal middens. The black deer is consistently the dominant terrestrial mammal found as in other coastal middens. Vancouver Island marmot was incidental with only 24 bones specimens. Radiocarbon dates range from 1341 BP (AD 609) and 1056 BP (AD 894).
