Résumé

During some ten years I have studied the phenomena of the lethargy of the Alpine Marmot on about twenty subjects held in captivity. I here report the biological and physiological phenomena that I have observed. Then I present the theories and physiological explanation which may be drawn from the established facts and above all those of the laboratory works of modern biologists.
