Résumé
Social relations between the indi- viduals from neighbouring families differ from those existing among the ani- mals from distantly spaced ones because in the steppe marmot besides fami- lies, there exist larger social groups demes, occupying relatively isolated terri- tory and including in their composition mainly adult individuals united in the first place by their visually-vocal reactions. Such groups, in their turn, unite to form colonies.
