Résumé
Three contiguous social groups of Alpine marmots (Marmota marmota, L., 1758) were followed from the beginning of June to the end of September by direct observation (scan sampling) in the Nature Reserve of « la Grande Sassière » (Vanoise National Park, French Alps). Temporal and spatial distribution of activities were established by taking into account behavioural patterns analysed by means of multifactorial analyses. Results show a general pattern for both spatial and temporal activity distribution, under the inlluence of a seasonal evolution. Differences between groups exist, probably related to social factors (group structure), spatial factors (home-range structure and size) and certainly other factors.
