Résumé

Most stocks of marmots on the Barguzinsky mountain ridge have different age composition. The number of animals in the stock is relatively high (up to 19). The stocks are characterized by the permanent composition. Interstock groupings are due to marmots of the 2nd and 3rd years of life. The number of stocks in typical marmot colonies is very stable. The average area of stock range equals 21.8 hectares. It includes a series of food and protective habitats thus providing conditions for the existence of the whole stock. Colonies (elementary populations) of marmots on the Barguzinsky mountain ridge consist of markedly dispersed stocks.
