I mammiferi quaternari della Grotta del cere' (Monti Lessini, Verona) [Les mammifères quaternaires de la grotte du Cere].

Résumé

The “Cerè cave” is one of the most important quaternary vertebrate fossil sites in the Verona area. In fact the cave has given back a large number of finds which constitute a very rich faunistic association and representative of different periods of the Pleistocene. The cave has a length of 12 m and the entrance is nearby 150 m E of Ceredo (S. Anna d’Alfaedo) at 750 m above the see level. The entrance is near the evident rupture of the slope wich characterezes the right side of the “Vajo dei Falconi”. In this work, morphometric and morphological data about abundant cranial and jaw remains of Ursus spelaeus, Canis lupus and Marmota marmota are exposed. These fossils, kept at the Museum of Natural History of Verona, were compared with those of populations of other Italian and European sites. La "Grotta del Cerè" è uno dei giacimenti quaternari di vertebrati fossili più importanti del veronese. Infatti, la cavità ha restituito un gran numero di reperti costituenti un'associazione faunistica assai ricca e rappresentativa di più momenti del Pleistocene. La grotta, nota anche come "Tana delll'orso" o "La Tanasela", ha uno sviluppo spaziale di 12 m e si apre circa 150 m ad est di Ceredo ( S. Anna d'Alfaedo", ad una quota di 750 m s.l.m. . L'ingresso si trova in prossimità dell'evidente rottura di pendio che caratterizza il versante destro del Vajo dei Falconi. In questo lavoro vengono presentati dati inediti inerenti gli elementi faunistici maggiormente rappresentativi, sia per numero di reperti conservati, sia per completezza degli stessi. Sono esposti i dati morfometrici rilevati sugli abbondanti resti cranici e mandibolari di Ursus, Canis lupus e Marmotta marmotta. Questi dati. Inoltre, sono messi a confronto con quelli relativi a popolazioni di giacimenti italiani ed europri.
