Un caso di albinismo in Marmota marmota in valle d'Aosta. A case of albinism in Marmota marmota in Aosta Valley [Un cas d'albinisme chez Marmota marmota dans la vallée d'Aoste].

Résumé

Viene descritto un caso di albinismo totale (mantello bianco, pupille e unghie rosa) nella Marmotta Alpina (Marmota marmota) in alla Valle d'Aosta. La prima osservazione di marmotte bianche risale agli anni 1950-1955. Il massimo numero di marmotte alpine osservato é stato di 6-7 oggetti, appartenenti a due diversi nuclei familiari. Attualmente (settembre 1991) sono presenti in zone 4 soggetti albini. The observation of cases of total albinism (white coat, eyes and claws pink) in the alpine marmot (Marmota marmota) in the high Aosta Valley has been described. The first observations of white marmots date back to the 1950-1955. The maximum number of albin marmots was 6 or 7 in two different family. At the present time (September 1991), in that area , there are four marmots.
