Résumé

The variability of the mandible sizes of Marmota bobak schaganensis Bashanov, 1930 is investigated by multivariate statistical analysis methods. The results show that two bobak marmot population exist in the Asian part of area. The level of the differences of mandible sizes between two bobak marmot populations is close to distinctions between two subspecies of bobak marmot – European M. B. bobak and Kazakhstan M.b. schaganensis. It is found that such natural isolation barriers as Turgay Hollow and valleys of rivers Tobol, Ayat and Ishim do not strongly influence on the population structure of Kazakhstan bobak marmots.
